On May 11, 1997, the "Pastor Paul Schneider Society" was founded in the "Paul Schneider" Protestant community center in Weimar. Mrs. Margarete Schneider, the widow of the "Preacher of Buchenwald", was present at the founding.
"The purpose and goal of the 'Pastor Paul Schneider Society' is to keep the legacy and testimony of faith of Pastor Paul Schneider, the "Preacher of Buchenwald", alive, to cultivate it, to promote the examination of his intellectual and spiritual attitude to life and faith and to convey his consistent testimony of Christ to the community, church and society today in such a way that it encourages and at the same time questions people in their daily thoughts and actions.
