The town owes its motto to Emanuel Felke, the "clay pastor". More than 100 years ago, he developed his holistic therapy using the elements of light, air, water and earth - known as the unique Felke cure. Today, the pastor and theologian Emanuel Felke is regarded as an important naturopath who was far ahead of his time. When Pastor Felke came to Sobernheim in 1915, he and his friend Andres Dhonau, a local businessman, built the first Jungborn with clay and air baths in the town on the Nahe. www.bad-sobernheim.de
