Nahe cycle path

Nahe cycle path - the river as your companion

Enjoy the unique natural beauty of the Nahe cycle path, which is signposted throughout. Bad Sobernheim is located directly on the Nahe cycle path, which runs for 120 km from the source of the Nahe in Nohfelden / Bostalsee to the mouth of the Nahe in the Rhine near Bingen. The Nahe Cycle Path follows the entire course of the Nahe from its source to its mouth. For the first 50 km to Idar-Oberstein, the route runs between the Hunsrück and North Palatinate uplands in several loops away from the young Nahe with some steep climbs.

From Idar-Oberstein, the Nahe cycle path is a pleasant river tour through the diverse Nahe region. Cycle past slate and quartzite formations, deep Hunsrück forests, the gemstone region around Idar-Oberstein, the Nahe wine-growing region and its bathing and spa towns.

Tip: Take a day trip from Bad Sobernheim to the Salinental valley between Bad Münster and Bad Kreuznach and enjoy a fresh sea breeze. Refreshed, continue along the spa gardens to Bad Kreuznach. Here, numerous stores and restaurants invite you to store and enjoy.
If you have too many shopping bags or no longer feel like cycling, simply take the train back to your starting point.

Start/finish: Bad Sobernheim - Bad Münster am Stein/Bad Kreuznach
Length: 50 km (there and back)
Travel time: approx. 4-5 h (there and back)
