District youth campsite Meisenheim

Since July 1998, youth groups, schools, day care centers and initiative groups have been able to use the Bad Kreuznach district youth campsite in the Heimbach valley near Meisenheim.

Three Finnish kotas of 30 square meters each with an open fireplace and wood-burning stove can be used all year round.

Location: The youth campsite is located on the outskirts of Meisenheim on a 12,000 square meter meadow area with a stream, surrounded by a wooded recreational area.

Occupancy: Groups up to 100 people, large groups on request; min. 7 people per kota, min. 20 people per campsite.

Fixed facilities: Building with night toilets, kitchen with catering equipment and storage room. Sanitary building with separate showers, washrooms and toilets, as well as wheelchair-accessible sanitary facilities with washbasin, shower and toilet. Lovingly designed and planted tent pitches, fire and barbecue area, covered outdoor water point.

Supply: Electricity, water connection, outdoor washbasin available.

Leisure/sports: Playground on the grounds, outdoor pool 300 meters, stadium and large playing fields, gym and indoor pool by arrangement 800 meters away; ideal starting point for nature excursions, hikes, cycling, canoeing, guided tours in the forest possible, historic old town.

Shopping: various shopping facilities in Meisenheim.

Transport connections: Train and bus via Bad Sobernheim, Staudernheim, Lauterecken and Kusel, also accessible via the Nahe and Glan cycle path network.

Special information: newly built in 1997/98, interesting outdoor area, tents can be provided for groups from the Bad Kreuznach district on request. Only well-supervised children's and youth groups are accepted on the site. The youth campsite is open all year round. Group catering is available by arrangement in the canteen of a nearby boarding school.
